The Fool has come a long way on his journey. This card represents the completion of a cycle. It’s time for joyful unity of the mind, body, and soul. What’s more, you are at one with the world. Look at the figure in the card, dancing and safely encircled in a wreath. This represents wholeness and fulfillment of a major life cycle.
What’s more, you’ve successfully integrated past lessons so that you move more freely in the world. Honor this moment and appreciate how far you’ve come. Remember when you were just starting out on your journey as the Fool? Now you’ve become the master. Still, as great as this moment is, remember that we are always starting and ending chapters in our lives, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself on another Fool’s journey soon. That’s what makes the story of the Major Arcana beautiful. We are always in a state of becoming.
The World Reversed
Sadly, this card is not as optimistic as its upright form. It speaks of resistance to change and the need to tie up loose ends before you can move forward. Resolve unfinished business so you can move freely in the world.
Here’s the other tough part of this card: Sometimes we hold onto baggage because it feels comforting. You’ve been carrying it for so long, you might wonder who you are without it. Don’t you want to find out?
Release the past to move forward. Focus on what you want to bring into fruition and let go of everything else. Lastly, imagine yourself as the figure in this card upright—whole, fulfilled, and vibrant. Don’t hesitate. Take in the lessons you need to and dive into your future. It’s so much more beautiful than you can imagine.
